Day Experiences begin with a presentation on the background
of the site, area or activity, delivered by lecturers in archaeology.
Location: These experiences take place at a number of
locations within South Yorkshire and the wider Yorkshire landscape. Details of
the location including a map will be sent upon booking.
Activities: A range of activities may be covered from
geophysical surveying to excavation and cataloguing.
Tuition: Our tutors are fully qualified to post-graduate
standard with many years of experience in the classroom and in the field.
Parking: Information on parking will be sent with booking
confirmation.
Refreshments: We will probably be some distance away from
facilities for refreshments and food. You will need to provide your own.

Prehistoric Brittany Fieldtrips

An opportunity to visit one of the
most remarkable areas of prehistoric archaeology in the world. Our week
long fieldtrip to Brittany in North West France takes in some of the
most famous examples of megaliths along with a range of sites from across Finistere and Morbihan.
Staying in a traditional longere on the edge of the Parc Nationale d’Armorique, you will be introduced to the prehistory of Brittany - an exhilirating location to visit. With thousands of sites available from the Paleolithic to the Iron Age, the choices of sites and museums are numerous.
The itinerary includes an introductory presentation on the archaeology of the area throughout the prehistoric period, with sites carefully chosen to develop an even greater appreciation of the life at the edge of Europe. Then it's on to the sites themselves with visits to Carnac and Loqmariaquer, burial mounds and Allees Couvertes in the National Park of Armorica and specialist museums.
It's an unmissable opportunity.
